Jabez

• In God's eyes, you're not a pain or a problem.

1 Chronicles 4:9-10 NIV

9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

• Jabez was labeled as a pain.

• Jabez refused to let his label become his legacy.

• When you pray, "God, bless me," you focus on His presence in your life more than the pain in your life.

• Prayer is cooperating with God to accomplish His will on this earth.

2 Chronicles 16:9 NIV

9 For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

Ezra 8:22 NIV
