Life Rhythms
When it comes to Marks of Discipleship, one of many things we see modeled through the life of Jesus is Life Rhythms. Similar to Daily Essentials, Life Rhythms are spiritual practices that reflect God’s design for life, like fasting and rest. In Mark 6:31, Jesus is in the middle of heavy ministry with His disciples; scripture says, "Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, He (meaning Jesus) said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’” Life Rhythms don't happen every day, so an important element of creating these rhythms is taking inventory of your time to allow margin for being with God. We use the word “rhythms” because they should happen regularly and consistently so we can BE WITH God before DOING FOR God.
