7 Marks of Discipleship

Have you ever wondered what your life purpose or calling is as a follower of Jesus? In Matthew 28, Jesus clearly states that as we go about our daily lives, we are commissioned to continue the work He began of making disciples. You may ask, "What does it look like to make a disciple?"

The 7 Marks of Discipleship provide a simple tool to help us identify areas where we are thriving in our calling as well as areas where we can grow. Below is a description of each of the 7 Marks. Where are you thriving, and where do you have room to grow?

Intentional Community

Intentional Community

Intentional Community is a commitment to being known in fully purposeful relationships. It happens in environments like House Church and Care Groups, where relationships are built, prayers are shared, and life is done well together.

Serving others is the life purpose of a follower of Jesus. When we serve, others experience the love of Jesus at work through us. It’s about availability—slowing down and seizing interruptions as opportunities.

Being Generous

Being Generous

Being generous means giving part of your financial resources to expand the kingdom of God. When we give back a portion of our blessings, we contribute to His work on earth and leave a lasting legacy.

Developing Others

Developing Others

Developing Others reproduces faith and obedience in others so they can come to know, love, and follow Jesus. It can be as informal as a coffee chat or as structured as a weekly Bible study.
