Summer Picks: Next Gen Team

READ

Austin Sines (Gulf Coast Campus Student Pastor)

Austin’s Summer Picks

  • Summer Treat Pick: My go-to salty snack is sunflower seeds. My sweet snack is watermelon Sour Patch Kids.
  • Summer Reading Pick: "Habits of the Household: Practicing the Story of God in Everyday Family Rhythms” by Justin Whitmel Earley
  • Why recommend this book? As a follower of Christ, one of the hardest things to do is set rhythms in my life that reflect a life centered on Christ. When I learned I would be a father, I knew that the most impactful thing I could do as a parent was live the lifestyle I wanted for my kids. This book will open your eyes to the rhythms of your life that you might want to change and give you opportunities to impact your kids and give them foundations based on rhythms in their daily lives that they can take with them for the rest of their lives.
  • Who would enjoy this book? Parents

LISTEN

Jana Whittington (Lincoln Road KXP Minister)

Jana’s Picks

  • Summer Treat Pick: Sonic Reese’s Blast with EXTRA EXTRA Reese’s
  • Summer Podcast Pick: “Raising Boys and Girls” Podcast
  • Why recommend this podcast?  The Raising Boys and Girls Podcast is a great resource to help parents care for the children in their lives with a little more understanding and practical help.
  • Who would enjoy this podcast? Parent of kids birth-5th grade

STUDY/MORE

Carli Driskell (Next Gen Director)

  • Why recommend this?  I love the resource wall because it highlights a wide variety of tools that help people grow in their faith.
  • Who would enjoy this resource? I would recommend the resource wall to families, parents, or any faith figure to the next generation who are looking for ways to help foster faith conversations and development.
