Summer Picks: Teaching Team

READ

Gray's Pick | Hunt Club Campus Pastor

Gray’s Summer Picks:

  • Summer Pastime Pick: I don't know if it is so much a summer pastime (more of an anytime pastime), but my crew loves to be in the mountains. John Muir's quote is so true for us, “Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity..."
  • Reading Pick: “Intentional Father” by Jon Tyson
  • Why recommend this book? This is a great resource to help dads make the most of their son's formative years. This is how Tyson puts it in his book, "Adolescent boys need to know they are being invited into a journey of growth and development out of childhood and into manhood. There needs to be a definitive break from normal life into liminal space (transitional space) where they can emerge and grow as men. In other cultures, this has been known as a rite of passage. A time in a boy’s life when he begins the transition to manhood.” Judah and I started this intentional process last fall and it has been really great!
  • Who would enjoy this book? Dads

It's super relatable and always entertaining, making it a great listen for any dad looking for a mix of fun and meaningful insights.
