Advent: LOVE

Author: Kyle Warren
Dec 18, 2024 | John 3:16-18

Welcome to our special Advent edition of the Daily Devos. Every Wednesday through the month of December, we will pause and read together a portion of the Christmas story as we invite you to experience Advent in your own story.

The word Advent means “the arrival.” It is a way to look back and celebrate the Son of God coming to earth to be born as a baby in a manger while we also look forward to His second coming when creation will be redeemed and restored. Each week we will discover a theme or a promise seen in the birth of Jesus that carries us through the “already not yet” as we await the arrival of His eternal Kingdom.

So far we have talked about HOPE through the story of Elizabeth and Zachariah and JOY through the story of Mary. Today, we will look at a passage that you may not consider a typical Christmas scripture as we talk about a very Christmas idea, love.

Grab a Bible and turn to John 3.

Remember:
  • For God so loved the world He gave His Son. In all the hustle and hurry of this time, please don’t miss the opportunity to stop and consider God’s love for you.

  • Make sure you come back next week as we conclude our Advent series by unpacking the PEACE of God that guides and guards our hearts.
