Head

Next on Paul’s journey is Ephesus. Paul meets up with some disciples who had been baptized for repentance but never baptized in the Holy Spirit. Paul laid hands on them, and the Holy Spirit came on them. They began prophesying and speaking in tongues! Paul spoke for 3 months in the synagogue there. Some people became stubborn and wouldn’t listen to Paul, he took the disciples and started preaching in the hall of Tyrannus. This continued for 2 years so that all of Asia could hear about God. God was doing some amazing and unusual things through the hands of Paul. People were healed if Paul’s handkerchiefs or aprons touched them after touching his skin! Some people had evil spirits that left their bodies. Many people who practiced evil things like witchcraft also came to know Jesus after seeing the miracles Paul was performing. The people practicing witchcraft even burned their books to signify they were no longer going to be doing those evil things anymore. The name of the Lord was praised all over Ephesus!

Heart

I love that God equipped Paul to minister to the people of Ephesus. There was a lot of evil stuff going on there, so God had to be particular about how He got the people’s attention. Paul didn’t have to do anything but be willing. It was God that healed people, but He used Paul to help. We can be used by God, too! All we must do is be willing. It won’t necessarily be easy, but God will direct our steps.

Hands

Paul surrendered everything to be a vessel for the Lord. Let God know you’re available to be a vessel as well. Take a minute to worship and listen to this song as a family. Watch this video, and let this song be your prayer this week.

Prayer: God, I’m available to go wherever You call me. Thank You for the opportunity to lead others to You! Amen.
