Head: Know God's Word | Heart: Love God | Hands: Follow God's Way
Read Luke 23-24
Head
In Luke 23-24, we read about Jesus’ crucifixion, death, and resurrection. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and for three days, it seemed like all hope was lost. But on the third day, something amazing happened - Jesus rose from the dead! This is the moment that changed everything. On the best day ever, Jesus came back to life! This is called the resurrection, and this is why we celebrate Easter.
Heart
Have you ever seen a butterfly flying around some flowers and thought, “What a beautiful creation?” God’s creation can speak to us! The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus can be seen in a beautiful butterfly. After Jesus died on the cross and was buried, He didn’t stay in the grave. On the third day, He rose again! The life cycle of a butterfly can help us understand Jesus’ resurrection in a simple yet powerful way. A butterfly starts as an egg, becomes a caterpillar, then forms a cocoon, and finally emerges from the dark cocoon as a beautiful butterfly. In a similar way, Jesus went through death (like the caterpillar), was buried (like the cocoon), and rose again (like the butterfly) to bring new life. Jesus is alive!
Hand
When you experience a “best day ever” in your life, you want to go and tell your friends about it so they can share in your excitement. Just as we read in these scriptures that the women at the tomb ran to tell the disciples, we are also called to share the amazing truth about the best day ever and that “He is risen!” with everyone we meet. Every day, we can share the love and hope we have in Jesus with those around us.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for dying for our sins and for rising from the dead so we can have forgiveness of our sins and have eternal life with You. Help us to share the good news of Your love with others and live in a way that honors You. Thank You for loving us so much. In Your name, we pray, Amen.
