Read Matthew 17-18
Head
My favorite part in today’s passage is the Parable of the Lost Sheep. This passage is such a great reminder of how important we are to God, our Shepherd! It talks about a shepherd who has one hundred sheep. One of the sheep has wandered away from the flock. A shepherd’s responsibility is to keep all of these sheep safe, so when one sheep wanders off, he leaves the rest to go find the lost one because it is so important to him.
Heart
God views us like His sheep. He cares for us and keeps us safe. He will always go after the one person that is lost. Not lost as in can’t follow physical directions, but lost as in not in a relationship with Him. God, the Shepherd, longs for a relationship with us, His sheep. This passage is a beautiful example of how God will do anything to rescue us!
Hands
How does it make you feel to know that you are SO important to God that He will literally go after you? I don’t know about you, but man! That makes me feel so incredibly loved! Take time today to listen to “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury. Spend a minute worshipping God and thanking Him that He will always go after you!
Prayer: God, I am so humbled that You love me so much! Thank you for being willing to leave the ninety-nine to come after me. I literally don’t deserve it! I love you so much! Amen.
