21 Days of Prayer
Key Verse:
“You turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will praise you forever.” Psalm 30:11
Prompt:
This week’s focus: Pray First
We serve a God of transformation. He transforms our mourning to praising; our brokenness to healing; our shame to hope; our death to eternal life in Him. As you begin your day in prayer, think through the ways you’ve seen God move and work in your life, and praise Him specifically for His transforming power.

Read Psalms 29-30
Head
These two chapters are full of descriptions of the strength and power of God. The voice of the Lord is more powerful than the forces of nature and huge trees! The writer seems to be shouting praises and thanksgiving to God. Psalm 29 has a lot of phrases about the power of God’s voice and ends with, “The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.” Chapter 30 continues with more descriptions of how God treats His people and ends with an exclamation that God turns “mourning into joyful dancing.”
Heart
God is both mighty and personal. He is more powerful than anything we could imagine, yet He is also gentle with us. He is whatever we need at any given moment. What can you proclaim about God’s strength in your life? How have you seen God in nature? What has he helped you overcome? The writer of Psalm 29-30 talked about many ways God had saved him, and he invites us all to join him in praising God.
Hands
Talk about the questions above.
- What can you proclaim about God’s strength in your life?
- How have you seen God in nature?
- What has he helped you overcome?
- As you go about your day, look for ways to praise God.
Prayer: Dear God, You are amazing! You are so strong and so mighty. There’s nothing You cannot do. You speak and mountains move. You speak and storms stop. You have helped me in so many ways. You provide for me and have a plan for me. Thank you! In Jesus’s name, Amen.
