Read Romans 5:1-5

Head

In these verses, Paul is writing to the Roman church to help bring peace and hope to them. He reminds them that they have been made right with God through faith - trusting in God. Paul tells them that we boast in the glory of God. We also glory in our sufferings because suffering will produce perseverance, character, and hope. God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

Heart

Paul wants to show us that we have peace with God through Jesus Christ. As you pray and talk to God, He will give you peace. Where do you find hope when something goes wrong and you are suffering? As others watch how you deal with good times and bad, they see Jesus in you.

Hands

Paul was using his relationship with God through the Holy Spirit to care for the church in Rome. Can you think of a way you could serve others? Do you think this will allow someone to see Jesus working in your life? Choose someone to serve and give them hope.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for loving us and pouring that love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Help us recognize opportunities to share the peace and hope we gain from our relationship. Thank You for the Holy Spirit that lives in us. We love You. Amen.
