21 Days of Prayer

Key Verse:

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.

Guide me in your truth and teach me,

for you are God my Savior,

and my hope is in you all day long.” Psalm 25:4-5

Prompt:

This week's focus: Grow in Grace

Vocalize Psalm 25:4-5 in prayer to God – “show me your ways; teach me your paths; guide me in your truth.” Thank God for His free gift of salvation that reclaims us and sets us right with Him. Thank Him for His gift of grace that covers our sin for eternity. Thank Him for the gift of hope that buoys us all the days of our lives no matter what storms come our way.

Head

Psalms 25 says three times that our “hope is in the Lord.” So what is hope? My friend Google says that hope is a feeling of trust. When we hope in the Lord, we are trusting in His plan for us, knowing it is good. Now let’s back up to Psalms 24. Who does David say the Lord is? “The Lord is strong and mighty…The Lord who rules over all. He is the King of glory” (Psalms 24:8,10 NIRV). The Lord is the Creator of all things. “The earth belongs to the Lord. And so does everything in it” (Psalms 24:1). Now I trust my parents, my friends (and maybe even Google sometimes) so I KNOW I can trust the Lord, who is the Creator of all things, including ME. Romans 8:28 tells us, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him” (NIRV). Your Creator wants good things for you. Sometimes those things aren’t exactly what we have in mind, but His plan for us is good. Trust and hope in THAT!

Heart

David gives the Lord many names in Psalms 24-25. Say this with me:

“God is my Savior, the King of Glory, strong and mighty, my Lord, my Teacher, and He is honest and good. My hope is in Him.”

Hands

When you go through your day, practice trusting in God. Turn your worries into prayers, knowing and believing God has good plans for you. Remember – He made you!

Prayer: Let’s pray Psalms 25:4. “Lord, show me Your ways. Teach me how to follow You. Guide me in Your truth. Teach me. You are God my Savior. I put my hope in You all day long” (NIRV).
