Head

"The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:20-21 (NIV)

Have you ever played a game where the rules seemed really hard to follow? Maybe you got frustrated when you kept making mistakes. Imagine if every time you made a mistake, you got a big hug instead of getting in trouble. That sounds pretty nice, doesn’t it?

In today’s scripture, God is telling us something amazing! He gave us rules, or the Law, so that we could understand what is right and what is wrong. But sometimes, we make mistakes—we might say something mean, disobey our parents, or take something that doesn’t belong to us. These mistakes are called sins.

Hands

Now, here’s the really good news: God doesn’t just leave us with our mistakes. He gives us something even bigger and better—His grace! Grace is like a giant warm hug from God that covers all our mistakes. No matter how big our sins are, God’s grace is always bigger.

And why does God do this? Because He loves us so much! He sent Jesus to die for our sins, so we could be forgiven and live with Him forever. Jesus is like that giant paintbrush, and His love and grace can make our lives beautiful, no matter how many mistakes we make.

Heart

So, remember, when you mess up, don’t worry. God’s grace is always there and ready to cover you with His love. Just like the scripture says, "Where sin increased, God’s grace increased even more." And that grace brings us closer to Him and gives us the gift of eternal life through Jesus.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for loving us so much and for giving us Your grace. Help us to remember that no matter how many mistakes we make, Your love is always bigger. Thank You for sending Jesus to cover our sins and bring us closer to You. Amen.
