1 John 4:7-21

I love gifts! Each time I receive a gift, it makes me feel special. Have you ever received a special gift? God has given each of us the greatest gift of all: His love! Let’s read our scripture passage today to learn about God’s love.

Head

Love is not a feeling, it’s something we do. The Bible tells us that whoever does not love does not know God because God is love. He didn’t just tell us He loves us, He showed us by sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. Loving others is part of our relationship with God. Once we have a relationship with God and know how much he loves us, He wants us to show that love to others. When we love others, it shows we belong to God, and then we reflect His love to the world.

So, what does it mean to know God? Knowing God means understanding His character and what He teaches us in the Bible.

Heart

God loved us so much that He sent His Son to save us, and that is the biggest act of love ever! How does knowing this help you love God more? It's important to love God with our whole hearts. What are some ways we can show our love to God? Singing, praying, and obeying Him are great ways!

Hands

Loving others is super important! God wants us to show love by being kind, helpful, and caring. How can you show love to your friends, family, or people in need? Think about someone you find it hard to love. How can you show them God's love, even if it's tough?

Every time you show love, you are sharing God’s amazing gift! Let’s be love-givers this week! Choose one person you can show an act of kindness to this week. It could be a friend, sibling, or even someone you don't know well. Write down what you will do and make a plan to follow through!

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for the greatest gift of all – JESUS! Teach us to become love-givers, just as You are. Help us understand more of Your character and all the ways that You love. As we learn more about You, help us to reflect Your love to the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
