Scripture

Primary Text: Galatians 6:1-5

Supplemental Text: Matthew 14:13-33

Observations & Applications

1. What stood out to you in Galatians 6:1-5?

2. Paul writes, “If someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently.” What do you think it means to restore someone gently? Why is gentleness important in helping others?

3. Verse 2 says, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” How can we practically carry each other’s burdens? What might prevent us from doing so?

4. Paul challenges us to “test [our] own actions” and to “take pride” in ourselves without comparing ourselves to others. How can we find genuine pride in how God works in us instead of comparing ourselves to others?

5. The passage closes, “...each one should carry their own load.” How do you interpret the difference between carrying our own load and carrying each other’s burdens?

Prayer

Father, as we aim to grow in generosity, build in us a heart of compassion for others. Amen.
